Sustainability

Working Ethos

Our aim is to incorporate as many sustainable practices as we can whilst running a successful floristry business - all without compromising on quality and style.

We use flowers grown right here in Hampshire and the surrounding counties as much as we can, especially in the Spring and Summer months when British flowers grow in abundance. To maintain quality and consistency, we also use blooms from our wonderful wholesaler in Southampton when required.

We are always exploring new and exciting ways to build on our green credentials!

'To make choices that help protect the earth, the people on it, and the environment.'
We are constantly reviewing ways to make The Floral Club a more sustainable business.

Materials and Tools

From recyclable Kraft and tissue paper used for wrapping bouquets, to chicken wire mechanics, compostable twine, reusable ribbon and glass jars, the materials we use have been purposefully selected to be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible.

High-quality Japanese Niwaki tools are used in all aspects of our floristry - the quality is second-to-none and they last for years and years.

Due to the seasonality of flowers in the UK, we frequently order from local Hampshire growers, or even visit the local flower fields to hand-pick blooms!

Some of our fantastic local flower growers include Garden Gathered, Dorset Dahlias, and Hyde Flower Farm.

Home-grown

There's nothing better than nurturing and growing beautiful flowers from seed or bulb.

Making use of our lovely garden in Fordingbridge, we grow as many plants as we can year-on-year.

These are used as seasonal cut flowers and foliage in all of our designs throughout the year. From scented narcissi in Spring posies, to zinnia, cosmos and snapdragons in colourful Summer bouquets, with skimmia and eucalyptus appearing in Christmas wreaths.
